Family Support Worker – 1.0 FTE (short term fill in)

About the role

The Family Support Worker provides outreach intervention services to families experiencing parenting difficulties and at risk of family breakdown. This is a short‑term, full‑time (1.0 FTE) temporary position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outreach and intervention services to families in need.
• Utilise strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Apply conflict resolution techniques effectively.
• Identify and connect families with community resources.
• Use tact and good judgment when handling sensitive and complex issues.
• Deliver crisis intervention support.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain accurate records, file documentation, and prepare reports.
• Complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
• Possess a valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Required profile

• Human Service Worker Diploma with 5 years experience, or Bachelor of Social Work with 2 years related experience.
• Knowledge of St’át’imc culture and ability to work with Aboriginal peoples.
• Willingness to undergo and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
