Chief Software Engineering Architect

About the role

DataStealth is looking for a Chief Software Engineering Architect to define and own the technical strategy of its unified data security platform. This senior position blends hands‑on development with architecture leadership, reporting directly to the CTO and guiding the company’s most senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the multi‑year technical roadmap and architecture vision across discovery, classification, tokenization, encryption, and key management.
• Write production code for the platform’s highest‑risk components, including tokenization engines and high‑throughput data‑path services.
• Lead applied research, prototypes, and experimental development to de‑risk ambitious projects.
• Define engineering standards, platform RFCs, and technology selections for Principal and Distinguished Engineers.
• Represent DataStealth’s architecture externally to customers, auditors, and the security community.

Required profile

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior individual‑contributor technical role.
• Deep experience building security products, applying cryptography, tokenization, key management, and AI/ML to real‑world security problems.

Required skills

• Java (primary), TypeScript/Node.js, Golang, Rust.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Container orchestration and infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Pulumi.
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK stack.
• Cryptography, tokenization, key hierarchy design, HSM integration.
• AI/ML for security: transformer classifiers, embedding models, LLM integration, NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM/ML Top 10.
