Chief Executive Officer – Energy Association

About the role

The Ontario Energy Association (OEA) is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization through a period of rapid transformation in Ontario’s energy landscape. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will serve as the primary external voice, championing the interests of a diverse membership while preserving the association’s independence and credibility.

Key responsibilities

• Represent OEA at the highest levels of government, engaging with the Premier’s Office, ministers, deputy ministers, regulators and public servants.
• Lead the development and execution of OEA’s policy and advocacy agenda on reliability, affordability, investment, electrification and economic competitiveness.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with CEOs and senior leaders across the electricity, natural gas, renewable energy and related sectors.
• Elevate OEA’s profile as a non‑partisan source of expertise, facilitating dialogue and providing objective perspectives on complex energy issues.
• Oversee financial, operational and organizational management, ensuring strong governance and strategic alignment with the Board.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the energy sector or related public policy environments.
• Deep knowledge of Ontario’s energy landscape, including electricity, natural gas, renewables and emerging technologies.
• Proven ability to navigate political environments, build consensus and influence decision‑makers.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence, capable of engaging media, industry leaders and the broader public.
