Director, Refugee Sponsorship & Resettlement Program

About the role

The Director, Refugee Sponsorship & Resettlement Program leads World Renew’s national refugee sponsorship portfolio, providing strategic direction, program oversight and advocacy to support successful newcomer integration across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and develop long‑term and annual plans for the Refugee Sponsorship & Resettlement Program.
• Ensure program alignment with World Renew’s mission, HEA objectives, Sponsorship Agreement Holder obligations and Canadian government requirements.
• Monitor performance against objectives and indicators, driving continuous improvement.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to expand and enhance sponsorship and resettlement services.
• Lead innovation initiatives and program development to improve quality and impact.
• Build and maintain relationships with churches, sponsoring groups, community organisations, government agencies, denominational partners and refugee‑serving organisations.
• Serve as the principal advisor and spokesperson on refugee sponsorship and resettlement for World Renew.
• Collaborate with International Disaster Response, Disaster Response Services and other HEA units to integrate humanitarian programming.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or refugee sponsorship programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic and operational plans.
• In‑depth knowledge of Sponsorship Agreement Holder obligations and Canadian refugee resettlement policies.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with faith‑based groups, community partners and government bodies.
• Experience in advocacy, program stewardship and resource management.
