Category Manager, Indirect Sourcing

About the role

LGC Biosearch Technologies is seeking a Category Manager to lead indirect sourcing across its global operations. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering cost‑reduction initiatives for assigned categories.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers in designated indirect categories.
• Ensure effective purchasing practices, documentation, and supplier training.
• Establish and track sourcing goals, metrics, and cost‑reduction targets.
• Lead negotiations and manage supplier performance through scorecards and regular reviews.
• Analyze market trends, supply availability, and price dynamics to recommend optimal procurement channels.
• Support the creation of annual sourcing plans aligned with profit objectives.
• Drive compliance with company policies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing function supporting indirect categories.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience in cost‑reduction projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement tools.
• Hands‑on experience with RFQs, contracting, supplier scorecards, and reporting.
• Negotiation and supplier performance management capabilities.
