About the role

Transdev Canada is seeking Casual Relief Transit Operators to provide safe, reliable public transportation in Vernon, BC. This unionized, on‑site position involves driving transit buses on fixed routes and delivering courteous service to passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate transit buses in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and assigned schedules.
• Provide professional customer service, assist passengers with fares, directions, and mobility devices.
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean interior and exterior.
• Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding delays, mechanical issues, or incidents.
• Accurately complete required reports and operate on‑board systems such as fare boxes and destination signs.

Required profile

• Class 2 BC driver’s licence with air‑brake endorsement (Class 5 applicants may start with a learner’s permit and receive training).
• Minimum two years of driving experience with a clean safety record.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
