Casual Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Long Term Care

About the role

Sampson & Rutherford (S&R Group) is recruiting for a casual, part-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) position in its long-term care facility in Sarnia. The work takes place inside a resident's home, where staff support residents' daily needs and help improve their quality of life. Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including safe lifts and transfers, bathing and feeding, promoting independence, comfort and dignity.
• Work alongside registered practical nurses (RPNs) and the care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Complete personal care (POC) tasks so that resident information stays accurate and up to date.
• Take part in shift reports, care conferences and team huddles to plan and improve care.
• Support residents with mobility, personal care and nutrition, and notice changes that matter.
• Connect with residents, celebrate milestones and make them feel valued.
• Take part in specialized programs or roles such as Behavioural Supports, Rehab or Quality Improvement.
• Mentor new team members through structured programs.

Required profile

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or HSPCOA registration.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months.
• TB 2 Step test updated within the last year.
