About the role
Join Baker Tilly as a Canadian Tax Manager and help drive tax planning and client service excellence for private enterprises across Canada. You will work closely with senior tax partners and a collaborative team to deliver high‑quality tax solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients in partnership with Tax Partners and senior staff.
- Perform technical research and document tax planning recommendations.
- Review Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff.
- Consult with clients on business and tax planning needs.
- Identify client service opportunities, including cross‑team collaboration.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff for high performance and professional growth.
- Design and facilitate training sessions for the broader team.
- Engage with all levels of the firm and participate in firm‑wide events that reinforce culture.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting or an equivalent field.
- CPA designation (preferred).
- 2–4 years of tax experience in a professional services firm, focusing on private enterprises.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Project management and organizational expertise.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
