Cafe Manager – Operations & Staff Leadership

About the role

The Figaro Coffee House is seeking an energetic Cafe Manager to lead daily operations at its Ottawa location. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while ensuring the café runs efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Adjust food preparation methods and menu pricing to align with budget targets.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise staff, conducting performance reviews.
• Maintain inventory, control costs, and prepare cash reports and balance sheets.
• Implement health, safety, and security protocols, including bondability and background checks.
• Organise events and manage customer service interactions.

Required profile

• High school graduation certificate.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and shift patterns.
