Buyer Supervisor

About the role

The Buyer Supervisor leads a small team of semi‑skilled procurement professionals at a large site of 800 employees. Working in a hybrid model (four days onsite), the role ensures the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate buying activities for the procurement team and allocate project resources.
• Develop, customize, and maintain procurement documentation and standards databases.
• Lead complex procurement initiatives, including source‑list creation, bid/quotation methods, and negotiations.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, requisitions, and expedite deliveries as needed.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve invoice discrepancies, and negotiate adjustments.
• Generate procurement metrics reports and recommend cost‑saving solutions.
• Supervise a team of 10‑12 employees, conduct performance reviews, approve overtime, and participate in hiring.

Required profile

• Experience supervising a small procurement or support team.
• Strong understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, and budgeting.
• Ability to develop schedules, manage budgets, and enforce compliance.
• Proven track record in supplier relationship management and problem resolution.
