Business Development Manager – Defence & Government

About the role
Taiga is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its sales strategy across defence, government, public sector, NGOs and first‑responder markets. You will identify opportunities where Taiga’s electric powersports and marine vehicles provide operational advantages and guide the full sales cycle from qualification to contract award.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a structured government sales strategy aligned with global commercial objectives.
- Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities within military, defence, public agencies, municipalities, NGOs and first‑responder organisations.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with decision‑makers, procurement officers and program managers.
- Lead institutional sales discussions, demonstrations and formal presentations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional resources to deliver compliant, competitive and technically accurate proposals.
- Maintain pipeline visibility, forecasting and reporting for institutional sales.
- Evaluate and develop strategic partnerships with defence contractors, system integrators and local distributors.
- Support channel partners through government procurement processes and RFP responses.
- Monitor regulatory, funding and procurement trends affecting public‑sector electrification.
- Identify grant programs, environmental incentives and sustainability initiatives that support electric adoption.
- Provide feedback to leadership on product adaptations, certifications and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate field demonstrations, trade events and ensure operational readiness with after‑sales and technical teams.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 + years of experience in government, military or institutional sales and business development.
- Proven track record managing public‑sector procurement processes and formal RFP responses.
- Established network within military, government agencies, NGOs or first‑responder organisations.
- Strong understanding of government contracting frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Experience selling vehicles, equipment, defence‑related systems or public‑safety solutions is preferred.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating cross‑functional teams.
