Blood Management Nurse (N3) – Selkirk

About the role

The Blood Management Nurse (N3) provides direct patient care and supports the Blood Management Services team in Selkirk. Working under the Technical Director and the Blood Management Medical Director, the nurse delivers iron therapy, monitors patients, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Screen referrals, assess patients, and administer intravenous iron treatments according to clinic guidelines.
• Participate in and lead committees that develop nursing policies, best‑practice guidelines, and quality‑improvement projects.
• Support provincial and regional nursing education teams in policy and curriculum development for safe blood product administration.
• Collect data, conduct audits of transfusion practices, and assist with program‑related research projects.
• Maintain professional development and stay active in nursing associations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years recent experience in acute medicine, surgery or obstetrics.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• CPR certification and willingness to maintain it per employer policy.
