Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join Ema’s AI‑driven platform. You will help build and scale the core services that power our Universal AI employee, working in a fast‑moving startup environment with offices in Silicon Valley and Bangalore.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade backend applications and services.
• Write clean, test‑driven code in Go and Python.
• Build and evolve APIs using REST and gRPC.
• Create and optimise data schemas in PostgreSQL, Clickhouse and related stores.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams to deliver integrated features using HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworks.
• Ensure security, reliability and scalability of multi‑tenant SaaS deployments.
• Continuously improve development processes and adopt cloud and container technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures and object‑oriented design.
• Proven ability to work independently and within global, cross‑functional teams.
