Backend Software Engineer (Go, Microservices)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design and implement highly scalable, real-time micro-services that power our AI-driven advertising platform. The role is remote-first and open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain distributed micro-services primarily using Go.
• Handle large data sets and integrate with databases such as Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, Redshift, TiDB and MariaDB.
• Build software that leverages messaging systems like Kafka, SQS and Kinesis.
• Write performance-efficient, memory-optimized code for low-latency ad-bidding and marketing automation pipelines.
• Collaborate with teams to optimise real-time bidding, campaign pacing algorithms and ML model integrations.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in data structures, algorithms and system optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and/or key-value stores.
• Proven track record building scalable micro-services and distributed systems.

Required skills

• Go programming language.
