About the role

The Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia seeks an Associate Professor to lead a grant‑tenure research program focused on aging, metabolism, and innovative three‑dimensional (3D) models of urologic cancers using fresh human tissue.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage organoid and stem/progenitor cell‑driven 3D cancer models.
  • Integrate metabolomics approaches to study disease progression and treatment resistance.
  • Conduct large‑scale drug testing and high‑throughput screening.
  • Teach undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses and supervise graduate students.
  • Provide mentorship, departmental service, and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated success in teaching and graduate student supervision.
  • Strong record of scholarly productivity and research funding.
  • Recognized expertise in metabolomics and organoid technologies.
  • Commitment to collaborative, inclusive academic environments.
