Associate Lawyer – Family Law & Litigation

About the role

Drysdale Bacon McStravick LLP is seeking a full‑time Associate Lawyer to lead family law and litigation matters in its Coquitlam office. Reporting to the litigation leadership team, you will manage cases from intake through resolution while contributing to the growth of the firm’s practice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft legal documents, pleadings, briefs and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Advise clients on family law, civil litigation and dispute‑resolution matters.
• Manage litigation files from intake through resolution, including discovery coordination.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, arbitrations and negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication.
• Collaborate with lawyers, legal assistants and support staff for efficient file management.
• Mentor junior litigation associates and support their professional development.
• Participate in business development, networking and community engagement activities.

Required profile

• Member of the Law Society of British Columbia (or eligible for membership without articles).
• Minimum 7 years of practising law with experience in family law and civil litigation.
• Established book of business and strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
