Associate HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an Associate HR Business Partner to join Instacart’s People Operations team. In this role you will support employee relations, compensation, onboarding and off‑boarding while partnering with senior HR Business Partners to drive process improvements and support our fast‑growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and coach first‑time managers on employee relations, performance management, compensation, HR policies and system implementation.
• Partner with HR Business Partners on larger projects, organizational changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage new‑hire onboarding logistics for assigned client groups.
• Conduct exit interviews and support employee off‑boarding processes.
• Stay current on federal and state HR laws, payroll, benefits, compliance, leave of absence and termination requirements.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, performance, company programs and policies.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of HR experience in fast‑growing organizations.
• Strong knowledge of HR federal and state regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization and communication skills.
• Experience representing HR policies and practices to managers and employees.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Suite.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
