About the role
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) at UBC seeks an Associate Advisor to support high‑quality programming for new students. This role assists in delivering orientation, transition, and international learning initiatives while providing guidance to current and prospective students.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, delivery and assessment of innovative orientation and transition programs.
- Collaborate with campus partners and colleagues to design initiatives that foster belonging and community for new students.
- Liaise with incoming students, partner universities, community organizations and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless program execution.
- Provide advice, guidance and complex query resolution for students, faculty, staff and external partners.
- Coordinate and lead volunteers on projects and events related to Go Global, Intercultural Development, and International Career‑focused programs.
Required profile
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Experience in student services, program coordination or related fields.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
