Assistant/Associate Professor of Teaching – Electrical & Computer Engineering

About the role

The School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia Okanagan invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in the educational leadership stream of the Electrical and Computer Engineering programs. The appointment may be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching (tenure‑track) or Associate Professor of Teaching (tenure‑track or tenured) and is expected to start on July 1, 2027 or an agreed date.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in electrical and computer engineering and develop innovative curriculum.
• Lead educational initiatives and contribute to program growth and improvement.
• Mentor and advise students, fostering hands‑on learning experiences.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and community outreach.
• Collaborate with industry partners to integrate real‑world applications.

Required profile

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to educational leadership.
• Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation.
• Relevant academic qualifications (typically a PhD or equivalent) in electrical or computer engineering.
• Experience or expertise in areas such as digital hardware, microelectronics, VLSI, autonomous systems, robotics, computer architecture, or embedded systems.
