Assistant/Associate Professor – Civil Engineering (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus seeks a full‑time faculty member in Civil Engineering. The appointment may be at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure‑track) or Associate Professor (tenure‑track or tenured) and is expected to begin on July 1, 2027, or a mutually agreed date.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering.
• Conduct high‑quality research in water resources, geotechnical, or environmental engineering.
• Supervise graduate students and contribute to curriculum development.
• Engage with industry partners and community stakeholders.
• Participate in departmental service and university committees.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia within three years of appointment.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation.
