Assistant Superintendent

About the role

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Site Superintendent and Project Manager in delivering high‑rise and ICI construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project safety program, maintaining all required records.
• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor the field team, including direct and indirect reports.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, trades, and stakeholders to ensure performance, productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.
• Collaborate closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to identify and resolve schedule, work‑interference, and risk issues.
• Ensure construction work complies with drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontract agreements.
• Maintain project documentation, correspondence, and compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
• Develop strong, customer‑focused relationships with all project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a construction‑related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of hands‑on experience in high‑rise or ICI construction.
• Current Health & Safety certifications and a valid driver’s licence.
• Solid understanding of construction trades, techniques, and productivity best practices.
• Knowledge of OH&S regulations, building codes, and relevant legislation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Procore construction management software.
• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for document control.
