Assistant Store Manager

About the role

We are looking for an energetic Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations at our Canadian Tire location in Kenora. The role involves overseeing staff, managing inventory, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. You will collaborate with department leads to drive sales and ensure compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control daily store operations.
• Evaluate, plan and organize daily activities.
• Manage staff, assign duties and conduct performance reviews.
• Study market research and trends to adjust merchandising and pricing.
• Implement price and credit policies.
• Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale.
• Plan budgets, monitor revenues and expenses.
• Determine staffing requirements and recruit, hire and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Resolve customer requests, complaints and supply shortages.
• Oversee payroll administration.
• Supervise office and volunteer staff.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• 1‑2 years of experience in retail or store management.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability (green job).
• Willingness to support newcomers and refugees.
