Assistant Professor (Clinical) – Critical Care Medicine

About the role

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at McGill University is seeking a full‑time Contract Academic Staff member at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical). Based at St. Mary’s Hospital Centre in Montreal, the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary adult intensive care unit and contribute to both clinical care and academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality intensive care as a clinical intensivist in St. Mary’s Hospital and Lakeshore General Hospital.
• Deliver clinical teaching and supervise trainees in internal medicine, critical care, and family medicine.
• Participate in departmental research, scholarly activities, and administrative duties.
• Implement and teach echocardiography and ultrasonography techniques in the ICU.
• Allocate protected non‑clinical time for research and educational projects.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for clinical education and mentorship.
• Commitment to a long‑term clinical career with opportunities for research and administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
