About the role
The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at McGill University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to lead research in physical oceanography and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program in physical oceanography.
- Supervise graduate students and mentor junior researchers.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in atmospheric and oceanic sciences.
- Participate in departmental service, including committees and outreach.
Required profile
- PhD in physical oceanography or a closely related field.
- Strong commitment to high‑quality teaching and mentorship.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research with modelling, observational, or theoretical components.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
