Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering excellent customer service and smooth store operations at Couche‑Tard in Gatineau. You will coach staff, handle cash and fuel transactions, and ensure the store remains clean, well‑stocked, and compliant with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and guide store staff to provide courteous, friendly service.
• Greet customers, assist with product recommendations, and resolve issues promptly.
• Accurately ring up sales, handle cash, checks, and electronic payments.
• Operate fuel consoles, lottery machines, money‑order machines, and telecom transactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness, report equipment failures, and oversee housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor inventory, rotate stock, and ensure attractive merchandising.
• Execute price changes, place signage, and manage sales controls.
• Maintain accurate cash, sales, payroll, and inventory records; complete daily banking and bookkeeping.
• Supervise shift activities and support the Store Manager in staffing decisions.

• Strong attention to detail for cash handling and inventory control.
