Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager will support the Store Manager in daily operations of our Red Deer retail location, ensuring smooth opening and closing, cash handling, and high store standards. This full‑time, on‑site role focuses on driving sales, delivering excellent customer experiences, and fostering a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.
• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to meet sales targets and provide superior customer service.
• Create staff schedules, train new team members, and monitor performance.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and execute in‑store promotions.
• Manage inventory, conduct stock counts, and support loss‑prevention initiatives.
• Handle point‑of‑sale transactions, reporting, and cash reconciliation.

Required profile

• Proven retail or customer‑facing experience, preferably in apparel, footwear or lifestyle brands.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Previous supervisory or key‑holder experience is preferred.
