Assistant Manager – Food Services

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Food Services will support the restaurant’s daily operations and help drive profitability. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will oversee staff, manage budgets, and ensure a high‑quality customer experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze budgets and monitor revenues to control labour costs and boost profits.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate daily operations, including inventory management and health‑safety compliance.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise a team of 16‑20 staff members.
• Balance cash, complete balance sheets, and generate cash reports.
• Address customer complaints and conduct performance reviews.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP diploma (1‑2 years) or equivalent experience.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a similar food‑service role.
• Accurate, dependable, and able to multitask in a high‑pressure setting.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and on‑call shifts.

Required skills

• Electronic cash register operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Windows).
• Point‑of‑sale (POS) system usage.
• Spreadsheet management.
