Assistant Designer – Graphics & Packaging (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

Indigo is seeking an Assistant Designer to support the creation of original graphics and artwork for its product packaging and internal initiatives. This six‑month contract role will work closely with senior graphic designers and the packaging team to ensure the brand’s visual language is consistent, engaging, and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing graphics, typography, and artwork for proprietary products and packaging.
• Collaborate with design leads to develop creative concepts that meet project goals and brand guidelines.
• Manage graphics from inception through final production, including resizing, reformatting, and preparing files for print.
• Research and recommend stock illustrations or patterns, and retouch or recolour assets to fit seasonal concepts.
• Stay updated on emerging design trends to maintain high standards of quality and relevance.

Required profile

• Portfolio demonstrating strong graphic and packaging design work.
• Ability to work from concept to pre‑production approval within tight timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Graphic design fundamentals (typography, composition, colour theory).
• Experience with design software for creating and editing artwork.
