Architectural Technologist / Designer

About the role

ABN Design Inc. is seeking a motivated Architectural Technologist / Designer to join the team full‑time. The role involves taking projects from concept through to construction‑ready permit packages while coordinating with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare architectural design, permit drawings, and construction documents for residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
• Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and construction details.
• Submit and manage building permit applications, acting as the primary contact for municipalities and consultants.
• Interpret client requirements, project specifications, and consultant information.
• Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code, municipal zoning by‑laws, and BCIN standards.
• Resolve permitting challenges, coordinate revisions, and maintain organized project files.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, Building Technology, or a related field.
• Valid BCIN – preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in architectural design, drafting, permit preparation, and municipal approvals.
