Architect – Industrial Facilities Design

About the role

HDR is seeking an Architect to join its Toronto office and contribute to the design and delivery of a wide range of industrial‑type facilities. You will work on projects that span data centers, water treatment plants, manufacturing sites, office spaces and more, helping to shape resilient and sustainable built environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, documentation and construction administration for multiple building types.
• Conduct and lead owner/client meetings and coordinate reviews with governing agencies to ensure code compliance.
• Manage project teams with varied experience levels to produce construction documents and meet intermediate milestones.
• Oversee design activities and generate detailed construction documents for complex facilities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of technical design concepts, code applications and design management.
• Experience with digital technologies and design workflows for industrial‑type projects.
• Ability to lead meetings, coordinate with agencies and guide multidisciplinary teams.
