Android Software Engineer

About the role

eBay is seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to help evolve its flagship mobile app, which serves millions of daily active users worldwide. You will join a passionate team focused on delivering innovative, high‑quality experiences that drive commerce and community.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with backend teams to build the next generation of the native Android application.
• Work closely with product owners and other engineering groups to deliver features efficiently and with high quality.
• Follow Agile/Scrum practices, continuously improve development processes, and advocate for code and cultural enhancements.
• Share knowledge across the team, mentor peers, and contribute to the core app experience.
• Partner with other eBay organizations to align on cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, refactoring, and releasing native Android applications.
• Proven ability to own a feature from concept to production.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is desirable.
• Strong understanding of modern Android APIs, concurrency, layouts, transitions, animations, persistence, and architectural patterns.
• Ability to support backend changes to REST APIs using Java or Kotlin.

What we offer

• Base salary range C$118,000 – C$157,500 per year.
