Android Software Developer – In-Vehicle Infotainment

About the role

Join Ford’s Enterprise Technology team to design and develop Android‑based software for in‑vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. You will work on customer‑facing applications that run on embedded automotive platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new Android software for Ford’s IVI systems.
• Create proofs of concept for next‑generation infotainment features.
• Implement and optimise code for resource‑constrained embedded ECUs.
• Collaborate with hardware teams, other software groups and external partners to define requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues on target hardware using specialised tools.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, code quality standards and maintainability.
• Participate in system design, documentation and testing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent credential assessment for foreign degrees).
• Minimum 2 years of software development experience.
• Solid understanding of Android and UI development.
• Experience developing HMI software for infotainment or mobile platforms.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub revision control.
• Experience with unit‑testing and mock frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• Strong communication skills.
