AI Software Developer – Android XR & Application Compatibility

About the role

Google is looking for an AI Software Developer to join its Android XR team. You will help build a unified automated application runner for Android XR AppCompat, enabling scalable execution of XR applications across devices, emulators, and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a unified automated application runner for Android XR AppCompat.
• Build scalable frameworks that execute applications on physical devices, emulators, and cloud‑hosted platforms.
• Collaborate with Android and Android XR platform teams to add new capabilities and improve performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize software components across the stack.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and understanding of algorithmic complexity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Go, Java, Python, C/C++, C#, Objective‑C, JavaScript, Kotlin.
• Experience with Android development and XR technologies.
• Software debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
