AI Social Strategist

About the role

Hootsuite is seeking an AI Social Strategist to design and operate an AI‑first organic social presence. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Channels & Distribution, you will join the AEO team and treat social media as a continuously improving system rather than a list of tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run an AI‑first social system across Hootsuite Amplify and channels such as LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and Meta using Claude, the Hootsuite MCP, and complementary tools.
• Create reusable Claude skills and MCP‑powered utilities for brand‑voice drafting, post analysis, listening synthesis, and competitive briefs.
• Own end‑to‑end social listening with Talkwalker, turning raw signals into weekly insights, quarterly strategy, and automated reports.
• Partner with the AEO team to grow Hootsuite’s share of voice on AI answer surfaces and align social signals with broader brand presence goals.
• Develop a system‑based social performance analysis that combines traditional metrics with AI‑first KPIs such as skills shipped and time‑to‑insight.
• Launch innovative social programs for lead generation, employee advocacy, executive thought leadership, and AI‑native creative formats.
• Champion internal AI tooling and MCP capabilities, providing structured feedback for product improvements.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in social media, content marketing, or brand strategy, with at least one role focused on strategy rather than pure execution.
• Strong background in B2B SaaS is preferred.
• Proven track record of building AI‑augmented workflows and quantifying their impact.
• Commitment to delivering measurable results and continuously improving processes.

Required skills

• Claude and other large language model tools (e.g., ChatGPT, custom GPTs)
• Hootsuite MCP, n8n, Zapier for AI‑driven automation
• Social media intelligence platforms: Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Brandwatch, Khoros
• Social listening tools: Talkwalker, Sprinklr
• Familiarity with AEO, SEO, or related brand‑presence disciplines
