Accountant

About the role

As an Accountant at S&C Electric Canada, you will support finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. The role is hybrid, with two days per week working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounting journal entries for monthly accruals and manage general ledger reconciliations.
• Administer fixed assets, report monthly capital expenditures, and prepare depreciation entries.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing activities and prepare financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).
• Conduct variance analysis, investigate significant deviations and coordinate with departments.
• Support external audits, government reporting, and Invest Ontario loan documentation.
• Manage accounts receivable billing, cash application, Concur travel & expense program, vehicle fleet program, and insurance administration.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting and finance operations, including month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver reliable financial insights.

• Annual base salary range $79,970 – $105,966 CAD
• Target annual bonus of 5% of base earnings
