Accountant – Consolidations

About the role

Brookfield Renewable is seeking an Accountant to lead the monthly consolidation and close process for its Brookfield Asset Management and Brookfield Corporate entities. The role supports the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting for a global renewable‑energy portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the monthly consolidation and close process for BAM and BN.
• Prepare supporting schedules and analyses required for financial statement disclosures and management reporting.
• Communicate regularly with portfolio companies and internal departments on close‑related activities.
• Review quarterly accounting reports from portfolio companies for consistency and accuracy, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain corporate‑level internal control documentation to ensure SOX compliance.
• Assist in integrating new assets or acquisitions into the consolidated reporting framework.
• Support external auditors by providing required documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies.
• Perform ad‑hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
• Coordinate monthly intercompany reconciliations across Brookfield groups.

Required profile

• Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA Canada or CPA US).
• 2–5 years of progressive experience in a Canadian or US public accounting firm.
• Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and manage changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships across diverse teams.
