Wood Floor Installer – Permanent Full‑Time

About the role

Capital Floor is seeking a skilled Wood Floor Installer to join our team in Toronto. This permanent, full‑time position involves on‑site work across residential, commercial and institutional locations, delivering high‑quality flooring installations and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, reading blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut, and install underlay, underpadding, and various floor coverings including hardwood, vinyl, linoleum, cork and parquet.
• Conduct moisture, pH, temperature and other tests prior to installations.
• Prepare floors, remove existing coverings, and address contaminants.
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products.
• Estimate material costs and labor requirements.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work – ability to lift heavy loads, bend, crouch and kneel.
• Bondable with a clear criminal record check.
• Client‑focused with strong interpersonal skills and good judgement.
• Willingness to travel to various locations and work flexible hours, including shift or on‑call work.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Measuring, cutting and installing hardwood, vinyl, resilient and other floor coverings.
• Conducting moisture, pH and temperature testing before installation.
• Applying finishes such as varnish, stain, veneer or polish.
