USMLE Step 1 Online Tutor (Remote)

About the role

Varsity Tutors is seeking experienced USMLE Step 1 tutors to join its Live Learning Platform. You will deliver one‑on‑one or instant online sessions, helping medical students master the extensive Step 1 curriculum from the comfort of your home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalized, real‑time instruction to students preparing for the USMLE Step 1 exam.
• Explain complex concepts in biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, physiology, microbiology, immunology, anatomy, histology, behavioral sciences, and biostatistics.
• Guide students in clinical vignette analysis, high‑yield association recognition, and multi‑step reasoning.
• Utilize First Aid, Pathoma, and UWorld question banks to create targeted review sessions.
• Adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles and address common problem areas.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of USMLE Step 1 content and the ability to integrate basic science with clinical scenarios.
• Experience teaching medical students or tutoring high‑stakes exams.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Ability to work independently, set your own schedule, and manage invoicing.

Required skills

• Familiarity with First Aid for the USMLE Step 1.
• Proficiency using Pathoma and UWorld question banks.
• Experience with spaced‑repetition study techniques.
