About the role

The Department of Statistics at the University of Manitoba is seeking a part‑time marker for the Winter term course STAT 3690 (Multivariate Analysis). The appointment runs from January 11 to April 9, 2027, with an expected workload of 60 hours (approximately 5 hours per week).

Key responsibilities

• Attend orientation with the course supervisor to receive grading guidelines.
• Grade and mark student work from tests, exams, and projects.
• Provide written feedback on the quality of submitted material.
• Maintain scheduled consultation hours for students and offer informal assistance as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of tests, exams, or projects under supervision.

Required profile

• Completion of academic studies providing expertise relevant to grading the course material.
• Empathetic approach to student instructional needs.
• Strong proficiency in English.
• For international students: valid study permit allowing on‑campus work and full‑time enrollment at the University of Manitoba for the appointment duration.
• Submission of the latest student transcript; academic performance will be a significant selection factor.
