About the role

The Ultra-low field Program Manager will lead a portfolio of local, national, and international ultra‑low field (ULF) MRI research initiatives within the Kolind Laboratory at UBC. Reporting to Principal Investigator Dr. Shannon Kolind, the role combines scientific oversight, technical consultation, and strategic planning to advance cutting‑edge imaging research.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate ULF MRI projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
  • Provide high‑level technical guidance on MRI sequence development, deployment, and complex data analysis.
  • Develop long‑term strategic plans, prepare progress reports, and write funding proposals.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of research assistants, coordinators, and students.
  • Act as primary liaison with industry partners, external investigators, ethics committees, funding agencies, and key opinion leaders.
  • Establish new collaborations and expand the research program’s network.

Required profile

  • Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in biomedical engineering, physics, neuroscience, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale MRI research programs.
  • Strong track record of securing research funding and publishing scientific results.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
