Turnkey Estimator – Water Treatment Projects

About the role

Veolia's Water Technology Business is looking for a Turnkey Estimator in Oakville to develop accurate cost estimates for balance of plant (BoP) scope on water treatment projects. The role supports bid development and project planning by analyzing labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs, working closely with the EP+ Manager, Commercial Project Leads and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for BoP mechanical and electrical scope, from Class 5 through Class 1 detail, based on specifications, drawings and design stage
• Estimate labor, equipment and material costs, including procurement lead times and logistics
• Maintain cost databases and historical cost information for BoP systems
• Support bid strategy, cost modeling for Top Box vs. Partnership delivery, bid reviews and cost justification
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes, and assist with contractor qualification
• Identify risks and contingencies, support TIC factor development, and estimate change orders
• Track actual costs against estimates with the Construction Manager and Project Controls Lead

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of cost estimation on industrial or construction projects, including 5 years estimating mechanical and electrical construction costs
• Demonstrated experience with balance of plant or similar industrial systems
• Fluency in English (French is a plus); eligibility to work in Canada is required, and sponsorship is not offered

Required skills

• Construction cost estimation and cost modeling for mechanical and electrical systems
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Cost estimation software and construction cost databases
• Preferred: CCP or similar certification, EP+ or turnkey delivery experience, water treatment projects, progressive design-build, risk quantification and earned value management
