Transport Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Onway Transport Inc is seeking a skilled Transport Refrigeration Technician to join our Calgary team. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration equipment on trucks that transport food and medical supplies, ensuring reliable cold‑chain performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems in refrigerated trucks.
• Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing techniques.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine installation requirements.
• Perform leak testing, system start‑up, and refrigerant recharging.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, air‑handling, and refrigeration issues.
• Repair or replace components, calibrate regulators, and conduct routine maintenance.
• Prepare tenders, quotations, and documentation for projects.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma) or equivalent.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience with truck refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours and follow safety procedures.
