Threat Analyst 2

About the role

Sophos is seeking a Threat Analyst 2 to join its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team. The analyst will monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats in customer environments, working closely with threat hunters, incident responders, engineers, and ethical hackers.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze logs and security events using Sophos tooling.
• Identify, contain, and remediate cyber threats within customer environments.
• Communicate findings and produce documentation for technical and executive audiences.
• Follow up with customers through issue resolution and provide recommendations to reduce risk.
• Handle inbound customer requests across multiple communication channels.
• Collaborate with core security and threat response teams.
• Research emerging Indicators of Compromise, exploits, and vulnerabilities and operationalize findings.

Required profile

• Willingness to work outside standard business hours, including weekends and holidays (shift: 4 PM‑1 AM EST).
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities with a creative problem‑solving mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
