Senior Technical Lead – Java & GCP (L4)

About the role

Telus Digital is seeking a Senior Technical Lead (L4) to drive the design, development, and modernization of mission‑critical enterprise applications on Google Cloud Platform. The role blends hands‑on coding with technical leadership, guiding teams through cloud migration, micro‑service architecture, and AI‑assisted development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end redesign of legacy Java applications, including Oracle stored procedures and Informatica PowerCenter workflows.
• Architect and build scalable micro‑services using Java, Spring Boot, and GCP native services such as Cloud Run and Cloud Functions.
• Implement data pipelines and SQL solutions with Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
• Provision and manage GCP infrastructure (IAM, networking, logging) using Terraform or Pulumi.
• Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Maven.
• Apply AI‑assisted tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve code quality and productivity.
• Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and architectural guidance to engineering teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record leading large‑scale cloud modernization projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
