Temporary Full-Time Educational Assistant

About the role

Isabelle Sellon School in Blairmore, Alberta is seeking a temporary full‑time Educational Assistant to support students in grades 4‑6. Working under the guidance of the classroom teacher, Inclusion Support Teacher, and administrative team, you will help students achieve the goals outlined in their behavior support, WISE, and Individual Student Plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group assistance to students.
• Implement strategies from behavior support plans, WISE plans, and Individual Student Plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, inclusion support staff, and administrators to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain a safe, caring, and student‑centered learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with students in one‑on‑one, small‑group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students requiring patience and flexibility.
• Experience collaborating with an Inclusion Support Team.
• Background working with students who have a range of diagnoses, from autism to complex behaviours.
• Experience supporting diverse learning needs.

Required skills

• Educational Assistant certification (asset).
• NVCI and/or SIVA training (asset).
• Understanding of Leader in Me (7 Habits) (asset).
