Temporary Full-Time Educational Assistant (Grades 7-12)

About the role

Pembina Hills School Division is seeking a Temporary Full‑Time Educational Assistant to support students in grades 7‑12 at Barrhead Composite High School. The role runs from 27 August 2026 to 24 June 2027, offering a structured, on‑site learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one academic support to a diverse range of students.
• Assist small groups and classroom activities as directed by teachers and special‑education staff.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special‑education lead teachers, and consultants to implement individualized support plans.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Work 33.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, following the school calendar.

Required profile

• Ability to set clear boundaries and communicate effectively.
• Capacity to work independently and adapt to a flexible learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with students aged 12‑18.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to take direction from teaching staff.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.

Required skills

• SIVA training (asset).
• First aid certification (asset).
