Telecommunications Technician – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Telecommunications Technician to join our team in a fast‑paced environment. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining telephone and network equipment at our physical locations, ensuring reliable communication services for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test cable signals and associated telecommunications equipment.
• Diagnose, locate, and repair faults in telephone and network hardware.
• Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and related hardware.
• Test installed telephone systems to identify transmission faults and adjust switching systems as needed.
• Install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems in central offices and switching centres.
• Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
• Provide problem‑solving support to network users and implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
• Perform routine network start‑up and shutdown, maintain control records, and conduct data backups and disaster‑recovery operations.
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring tools, optimize server performance, and set up LANs and Internet connections.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Capability to distinguish colours, handle heavy loads, and work under pressure.
• Good oral and written communication, teamwork, and client‑focused attitude.
