Technical Recruiter

About the role

Opendoor is looking for a Technical Recruiter to lead full‑cycle hiring for its most demanding product and platform engineering teams. This founding‑caliber position sits on a lean People team that embeds AI into every recruiting workflow from day one, giving you direct access to leadership and the freedom to design and experiment with new processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end recruiting for software engineering, machine‑learning and related technical roles, from intake to offer.
• Develop and execute multi‑channel sourcing strategies, including targeted outbound outreach, deep dives on GitHub, community engagement and referral activation.
• Conduct substantive screening conversations covering system design, ML fundamentals and engineering trade‑offs.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, maintain a high talent bar and translate technical needs into compelling candidate narratives.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate sourcing, screening, outreach and pipeline analytics, and document scalable workflows.
• Build recruiting playbooks, interview frameworks, ATS hygiene processes and reporting dashboards, and connect recruiting to onboarding, leveling and compensation.

Required profile

• 7+ years of full‑cycle technical recruiting experience at a high‑growth technology company.
• Proven track record hiring software engineers and ML/AI talent, with a clear understanding of leveling and role expectations.
• Experience in a lean or startup environment where you built recruiting processes from scratch.
• Ability to act as a trusted talent partner, push back on scope or bar, and use data‑driven decision making.
