Teaching Assistant – Laboratory in Immunology (Winter 2027)

About the role

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at McGill University seeks eight Teaching Assistants for the Winter 2027 term of MIMM 385 – Laboratory in Immunology. The role involves grading, supporting course content on MyCourses, and guiding 10‑16 undergraduate students through practical immunology labs.

Key responsibilities

• Grade short written answers in quizzes and exams and record results in a spreadsheet.
• Assist with uploading course materials and manage student questions/comments on the MyCourses platform.
• Instruct and guide undergraduate students during Wednesday and Friday lab sessions, ensuring safe laboratory procedures.
• Respond to student inquiries via email or office hours and attend weekly TA meetings with the instructor.
• Maintain presence in the Duff C‑floor labs and support students in participation, reports, and presentations.

Required profile

• Preferable knowledge of Immunology and Microbiology, ideally having completed courses such as MIMM 211, 214, 314 or 385.
• Solid understanding of immunology concepts.
• Effective communication skills in English; French is desirable.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
