Tax Officer – Estate & Trust Services

About the role

The National Tax Services team supports Estate & Trust Services Relationship Managers by delivering accurate tax return preparation and client service. As a Tax Officer you will ensure high‑quality T1 and T3 returns are filed on time while collaborating closely with colleagues and RBC partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns (T1 final, T1, T3, T3010) for estate and trust clients.
• Identify, investigate and resolve inquiries or discrepancies, guiding staff as needed.
• Research tax‑related issues and provide timely, accurate information to team members and partners.
• Collect and maintain documentation of account activities and communicate resolutions.
• Respond promptly to external calls and correspondence in a professional manner.
• Use effective written, verbal and electronic communication to build strong relationships.
• Mentor and train new or seasonal staff members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of relevant tax experience, including preparation of T1 and T3 returns.
• University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of taxation requirements for estate and trust products.
• Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
